What is a Psychic? A psychic is someone that has a gift to tune in to the hidden realms that surround us. Everyone is psychic to some degree, when the telephone rings and you get a mental impression of who it is before you pick up is a psychic ability. It is a form of intuition sometimes called a "Sixth Sense". A psychic can tune in to a persons auric field and pick up facts and snippets of information about them. It literally means "Clear Seeing". As a medium the mental pictures given by spirit are described as Clairvoyant. The words a medium hears are clairaudience, and any sensations a medium experiences such as pain,love, bodily ailments at the time of spirits passing are called clairsentience (clear sensing) MEDIUM What is a Medium? Mediums are individuals that have a gift sometimes from birth, sometimes developing in later life that enable them to make contact with Spirit to give messages of hope from the afterlife. Part of a mediums work is to give proof of survival of what we call the "personality" after death and to help the bereaved to come to terms with their loss. Results can never be guaranteed as a medium can not make a spirit come through, that is up to the mediums guides,helpers and the spirit world. Mediumship today takes two main forms: Psychical Mediumship is usually demonstrated at private seances and circles and usually by invite only. At a private physical seance you may witness raps,taps, lights, movement of a table or trumphet my no apparent means. You may hear audible voices or be lucky enough to witness a materialiasation of a loved one. Mental Mediums This does not mean we are off our heads! mental mediumship is the most common form of mediumship displayed today in Spiritualist churches and at private sittings. Notable mental mediums are Colin Fry and Tony Stockwell. Mental mediumship happens when spirit impress thoughts,images,impressions on to the mind of the medium. The only danger is that a medium can try to interpret the message being giving when in fact he should just pass it on to the sitter if he understands it or not. |
